Dance teachers
I wish to extol the virtues of the teachers at En Pointe School Of Dance. Besides being overtly and thoroughly Christian and caring for their students, they really know their dance! They are of professional quality, yet dedicated to loving service in a Christian niche. Students need not be believers to enroll at En Pointe, of course, but they receive the benefits of a Christian leadership.
En Pointe's teachers go above and beyond the call of duty, staying after class, spending ample time with parents when asked, even giving extensive evaluations when appropriate or requested. They are all good communicators, leaving few, if any, unanswered questions or unknown goals. Students are conscientiously placed in the right classes. They pay close attention to each student, insuring they learn the material.
Come visit En Pointe, watch a class, try one out. You'll quickly see why En Pointe School Of Dance enjoys such a great reputation.

I agree
The teachers at En Pointe are very patient and kind even to the youngest dancers. Mrs. Dorinda and Mrs. Jennifer are very sweet to our girls in the 3-4 yr. old Creative Movement class. All of the dances, including the warm up, are done to Christian music. At the end of class, the teachers allow the dancers to dance for the Lord, and then they say a prayer over the girls before leaving.
The spirit of God is there in class. Even the toddlers wandering around outside the studios are drawn to the class and the music. Mrs. Dorinda and Mrs. Jennifer freely allow our toddlers to enter the studio and try to dance too. They do not get upset or impatient if the toddlers are running around. We parents do our best to keep them out of the way, but the teachers welcome them in, so as long as we're not distracting the class, we allow them to dance near the door. Or we'll sit with the toddlers looking on at the door. I'm sure at other places this would not be allowed at all, but the teachers at En Pointe are just so gracious, and I think they are blessed seeing the littlest ones dance as well.
A few weeks ago, the dancers were doing a dance while sitting on the floor with their legs straight out, pointing their toes up and down to the music. Mrs. Dorinda asked for my toddler and another toddler to sit on each side of her and she showed them how to point their toes as well! The other toddler did a great job pointing her toes, but my toddler decided it was a good idea to take off her socks and pick in between her toes and say "Eeewwww" very loudly. The teachers really got a kick out of that.
The teachers are also teaching our dancers the proper words for all of the ballet moves and positions, and are patient when it takes a particular child longer to learn a dance move. It took one dancer in our class a number of weeks to learn how to skip across the studio. This past week, as she deliberately made the skipping movements slowly thru the room on her own, all of the other dancers sat and cheered her on, clapping and encouraging her. At the end of class, Mrs. Dorinda made a point to come out and tell all of us about this and how wonderful the whole class was to encourage a fellow dancer.
Besides learning the proper ballet moves and terms, Mrs. Dorinda and Mrs. Jennifer are also teaching the girls basic Christian concepts. This past week, they sat in a circle as Mrs. Dorinda explained how a bad apple can ruin the whole basket of apples, and like apples, people can be the same way. So it's important for us to be around good people because we wouldn't want to be like bad people. It was very simple but sound doctrine.
While I could have taken my daughter somewhere else to learn dance, I am glad I've taken her to En Pointe. She's learning so much more than dance.
